SO, SO MANY THINGS come to mind as I sit down to write a few words about Lydia and Jimmy. At our first meeting, two things that were immediately evident were their love for each other and love for their faith. Lydia and Jimmy met playing music together at their church, and have continued playing music as their relationship has deepened. Jimmy brought his guitar to the engagement session, and as you’ll see, the resulting photos are adorable.

 

I love Lydia’s engagement ring!

This flower field was so incredible! If it weren’t for the heat and the bugs, I think we could’ve stayed here all evening! Can you tell that it was over 90 degrees outside? Me neither. 😉

Le Fleur made the loveliest floral crown for the session.

When you’re on public trails, you never know who will come walking by. Puppy photobomb for the win!

Lydia and Jimmy are both so talented! Since they met playing music together, this was such a fitting engagement photo idea. I asked them to start playing a song, and told them I’d just capture some candids. They played a song Lydia had recently written, and blew me away!

I can’t stop gushing about the floral crown! Lydia, you’re lovely.

These two are so natural together. 🙂

Lydia’s grandparents live right off a lake, and graciously let us use their canoe for a few photos. This was my first time shooting engagement photos in a canoe, and let me tell you, it’s harder than it looks! Good thing Jimmy knew what he was doing.

The sun was just starting to think about setting when these photos were taken, and I love the soft, golden tones it produced.
