Metamora Fields Wedding | Kristina and Hans
Where do I even begin with these two? I suppose the very beginning would be a solid starting point. đ
I met Kristina through our siblings, Daniel (my little brother) and Anna (Kristina’s little sister). Both have Down Syndrome and our Moms connected through the Down Syndrome Association. Shortly after our families met, I began nannying for their family and you could say that the rest is history. Thinking back, I realize now that Kristina (and her blind faith in my photographic abilities) was instrumental in my journey to becoming a photographer. Long before I had a  “real” camera or any technical knowledge in photography, we would venture into the woods, or to the stables where she boarded her horse and I’d shoot away. Kristina was the little sister I never had in so many ways, and would often tell me that when she grew up she wanted to be like me. I miss our trampoline talks about horses and boys (mostly my now-husband), and walks down country roads, Kristina!
Then Hans came into the picture. I remember meeting Hans and photographing the nervous, giggly couple before they went to Kristina’s high school prom. Driving home from the evening, I still remember thinking “Hans was so good to her”. Throughout the years that followed, in college and the work force Hans remained the constant friend and soulmate that I had always hoped Kristina would find. Thank you, Hans, for caring for and loving Kristina so well. You two are going to make some crazy good looking babies, and you’d better believe that I’m 100% on board to continue photographing your life’s story!
Now on to some photos from their lovely wedding!
Gorgeous florals by LeFleur!
 The beautiful bride!
Kristina’s dress was perfection, and fit her like a glove!
 Floral robes for days. đ
I love, LOVE getting ready photos at Metamora Fields! Windows and more windows, yes, please!
Kristina’s Grandma, Mary Ann, is a very special woman, and Kristina’s#1Â cheerleader.
Don’t hate me, Kristina(!!)âI actually love this photo! Hey, a girl’s gotta make sure her pits stay fresh for the big day, right?
Again, the light at Metamora Fields… and the beautiful bride!
Typically I don’t get to be a part of the groom’s getting ready photos, but since everyone got ready at the same place I was able to squeeze in a little time with the guys. So glad I was able to capture this handsome groom preparing for the big day!
Grandma Mary Ann, was everywhere that morning! Tweaking centerpieces, helping transport Kristina’s dress, laying a hand on Hans’ shoulder for a final word before he marries her granddaughter.
Now that’s one handsome groom, Kristina!
Kristina’s Grandpa passed away recently, and the gift she gave her grandma was a tribute to her Grandpa and Grandma who she said “Taught her how to love”.
The gift. A necklace with three birthstonesâKristina’s, her Grandma’s and her Grandpa’s.
I think I know which side of the family Kristina’s good looks come from!
Most perfect dress for twirling! This is one of my favorite images of the day!
To those who think that a “first look” isn’t for them…fair warning, this first look might just change your mind.
His face says it all!
Hans’ reaction to her Tom’s! I think it’s safe to say they were a hit. đ
These two are just so gosh darn adorable!
Stay tuned for part 2. So much loveliness yet to come!
